Wind Power
The generation of electricity from wind energy is the fastest growing, clean, sustainable energy source in the world. This fast growth is mainly due to its low cost (~ $0.05/kWhr); making wind power the most competitively priced renewable energy technology available today. Which is mainly a consequence of its large energy payback ratio (> 20:1). Wind is a form of solar energy as it is a manifestation of the solar heating of our rotating atmosphere. As a result it is intermittent nature and not as well correlated to demand as direct solar energy conversion.
